Hey - figured I'd put up the results of the rules questions we had on Tuesday night. I am in the process of putting together version 2 of the rulebook and will send it out when it's ready. In addition to these changes, I will also be updating the Spread the Net mission, so check it out there.
1. Ship Experience - each ship is limited on the number of "experiences" it can get based on its size. Small - one, medium - two, large - three. In addtion, once a ship gains an experience trait, it wipes out all the games it had tallied and must start building experience again for its second trait.
2. Reinforcements - from now on, reinforcements will be in 200 point "bundles". You tally up all the reinforcement points you get in a single aftermath phase and can spend them however you like. However, any unused points are wiped out after that. No banking points.
3. Appeals Reroll - you can use your commander's reroll on your your appeals IF your commander was in the battle/raid you just did AND did not use all your rerolls in that battle/raid. Each reroll allows you to roll one appeal.
4. New Ships - as FSA gets new ship types, you will have to purchase them as reinforcements. This will possibly be revisited when/if Leviathans come out.
5. Decoy Subplot - the decoy ship is the same size as your largest ship, and if it is attacked/boarded/aggressed against by any opponent's ship of equal or larger size, you succeeded in the mission.
6. Shunting Ships - now count for the same number of VPs as destroying the ship. This way there is no advantage to a player to fire on fleeing ships, and there is a reason for an opponent to shunt his ships because he knows his opponent won't kill them (unless being evil or going after a subplot).
